There is the future. “If I get involved in politics and I start this party, I would look better if I had a few kilos less. If they do put me on posters I don’t want to look like a moon.”

Would he be less recognisable as a thin man? “No, I don’t think so.”
He laughs: “I could wear a pirate patch.”

The plan is to eat less and exercise more. “If you sit in front of your Xbox and play Modern Warfare you don’t really burn much. If you take the car everywhere you don’t burn much. I need to get moving.”

Perhaps surgical options would work. “I really love my food. That’s my problem. It stabilises me too. The food, really, almost works like a drug that keeps me calm and steady.”

He has a new business planned — a music distribution company for artists which allows them to produce and sell direct to a global audience. It is called Baboom. Dotcom says he has talked to some of the biggest names in music, who are interested.
